Did you know that outlining is an expectation of professional screenwriters?
Outlines are used to get the screenwriter, showrunner, producer, studio, and/or network on the same page before going to script.

Outlines are expected in:

• Step Deals - Screenwriters hired as a work-for-hire writer must provide an outline as a part of their contracted services.
• Writers Rooms - After breaking story in the room, TV writers must provide an outline of each episode to the studio and network for approval of the arc of the season.

Outlines can also:

• Make your writing process more efficient and effective.
• Stop you from getting writers block and getting stuck on the page.
• Decrease the amount of revisions and rewrites.

Now that you understand the importance of outlining, let's get ready to master storytelling!
